If the printer is not listed in the drop down its not recognized as a serial interface by the underlying operating system. I am now seeing this too with my Ender 5 Pro... WTF?

I'm guessing that PrintedWeezl wanted you to tape the Type-A side VCC pin connector of this cable, to plug it into the Pi and to measure for the absence of 5V on the Type-B side of the cable. You are measuring the values from the printer. Also: the USB A connector, that is connected to the Pi, gets the power and the B connector, that is connected to the printer, delivers the power. Make sure to scroll to the right to see the entire table.
Just cover the +5v lead on the USB connector with a piece of electrical tape, and you won't have the those power issues. Am I able to connect my Pi into this port to run octopi, or am I missing something? circular

This may be an obvious question, but I have octoprint on my raspberry pi, but when I assembled my Ender 5 I realized there was no USB B port. :). OctoPi Release Candidate 0.18.0rc1 needs testers! In the meantime, I replaced the stepper motor with a smaller variety and it was also moving slowly. I just setup my Pi and it wont connect to my Ender 5, I even tried the cable from my Ender 3 and still wont connect to Octoprint is there something i missed? But since you're showing the Type-A side of the cable then I have to assume that the other end (Type-B) is plugged into your printer board.

I don't think so. Profiling is done with the help of PyVmMonitor. OctoPrint's development is made possible only through the, older Flashforge printers or older Makerbots, current Flashforge, Dremel or PowerSpec machines.
